Now, can you imagine looking into the eyes of the baby Jesus, being caught in the gaze of God? Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, wise men, even the animals, would have experienced that love at first sight, however, the love in this birth situation is emanating from God in infant form. That baby that needed everything would be the one whom the world needed and depended on.
We think of a baby born on Christmas, yet, what truly was born was God's love for all creation. Contemporary Christian writer Mark Schultz offers a beautiful musical impression of this thought with his song, “When love was born.” (click on title link for video)
My prayer for you, your family, and the world, is that love can be born for you this Christmas. This God of Love can bring about reconciliation and peace, if we but allow the Spirit to work. May peace prevail in your life and the world.
Have a blessed Christmas!
