Pakistan Flooding
The
International Disaster Response (IDR) of the ELCA has committed a total of
$210,000 in response to widespread flooding in Pakistan. Approximately 17.6
million people in Pakistan have been affected by the severe floods, with
900,000 displaced from their homes.
The initial $100,000 gift was used to provide
shelters, cooking supplies, and soap for those displaced. The additional
$110,000 will be directed to two specific responses: water, sanitation and
hygiene needs; and food, shelter and nonfood items.
