I serve as Director for Global Mission for the Western Iowa Synod. As such, I am often drawn to global news and happenings, most all of which are negative and heart-wrenching--war, disease, violence, poverty, distrust, etc.--mostly, an inability to live together in loving harmony, as One, as Christ Jesus commands us in John 17:21. When scuba diving, however, along the coral reefs filled with such a wide variety of fishes--of all colors and sizes, feeding off of God's provisions, with enough for all, in peaceful harmony--it moved me to long for such a beautiful, dignified existence among we humans above the sea.
My prayer is that we all long for such and work diligently and prayerfully to be as One in Christ Jesus, just as Christ is one in God the Father. How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity! Proverbs 133:1. Blessings~
